Kennedy was born in 1988 in Middletown, Rhode Island. She is the daughter of Susan and Richard Collins. Kennedy grew up in a Catholic family and attended Catholic schools. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy Bayview in 2006.

Kennedy’s birth

John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts, to Rose and Joseph P. Kennedy. He was the second of nine children in the Kennedy family.

When Kennedy was born, his father was a prominent businessman and ambassador to the United Kingdom. His mother was a devout Catholic who instilled her faith in her children. Kennedy’s older brother, Joe Jr., was expected to one day take over the family business.

As a child, Kennedy suffered from recurrent health problems, including anemia and bronchitis. He was also undersized; at age 11, he stood just 4’8″ tall. In spite of his health problems and small stature, Kennedy was an active child. He loved touch football and sailing, and he excelled at both sports.

Kennedy’s parents emphasized the importance of hard work and education. As a result, Kennedy became an excellent student. He attended private schools in Massachusetts before enrolling at Harvard University in 1936. At Harvard, Kennedy studied international relations and government. He graduated cum laude in 1940.

Kennedy’s upbringing

Kennedy was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 25, 1925, the second child of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy (née Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald) and Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. He was named after his maternal grandfather, John Vernou Bouvier III (1891–1957). His sister Eunice was born in the two years following his birth. His mother commonly called him “~”, as the firstborn son was expected to be a groom called Jr.. In 1928, the parents added a third child due to Rose’s inability to conceive again after the loss of their firstborn daughter in 1925 who died shortly after her birth—a miscarriage that occurred months before they conceived again. They subsequently had four more children: Rosemary (who suffered from irreversible mental retardation and underwent a lobotomy at age 23), Kathleen (who died in an airplane crash at age 28), Patricia (known as “~”), and Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968)~the future U.S. Attorney General and Senator from New York—were all born between 1928 and 1933. The children were raised in ~a wealthy Irish-American family with strong Catholic values~in an eight-room mansion at 5040 Independence Avenue in the Bronx district of New York City
